AI Assistant — Example Prompts

Enterprise / Pro add-on

Copy any prompt directly into the DFFS AI prompt box. Each section notes which scope toggles to enable in the AI panel.

Layout Changes

Scope: enable Form in the AI panel

Two-column layout

Reorganize the “Form Fields” tab into two columns on large and extra-large screens (lg/xl = 6 each, full width on sm/md). Left column: Title, CurrencyUS, DateOnly, LookupSingle. Right column: MultiLinePlain, UserSingle, BoolDefaultYes, Attachments.

Move fields to a new tab

Create a new tab called “Financials” after the “Form Fields” tab. Move CurrencyUS, CurrencyNO, NumberNoDecimals, and NumberTwoDecimals into it.

Accordion sections

Wrap the “Form Fields” tab content in two accordion rows: one called “Basic Info” containing Title and MultiLinePlain (collapsed by default), and one called “Dates & People” containing DateOnly, UserSingle, and BoolDefaultYes (expanded by default).

Add a new list field and place it on the form

Add a new single-line text field called “Project Code” to the list, place it on the form directly below the Title field on the “Form Fields” tab, and give it a label position of “left”.

Rules

Scope: enable Rules in the AI panel

Conditional required + validation message

When BoolDefaultYes is checked (true), make UserSingle required and show a validation message on it saying “Please assign a responsible person.” Clear the validation message when unchecked.

Hide/show based on choice selection

When ChoiceDropdown equals “Enter Choice #1”, hide LookupSingle and set CurrencyUS to 0. When any other value is selected, show LookupSingle again.

Group membership check

On form load, if the current user is in the SharePoint group “Managers”, make CurrencyNO editable. Otherwise make it read-only.

Tab visibility based on a number field

Show the “Financials” tab only when NumberNoDecimals is greater than 100. Hide it otherwise.

Auto-populate on form load

On form load in new item mode, set UserSingle to the current user’s login name.

Custom CSS

Scope: enable Custom CSS in the AI panel

Highlight required fields

Add custom CSS so that when a field is required, its label gets a bold font weight and a red left border (3px solid #a4262c) on the field wrapper.

Alternating row shading

Add custom CSS to give every other .dffs-field wrapper inside the form a very light gray background (#f9f9f9) to make the form easier to scan.

Mode-specific visibility

Add custom CSS to hide the Attachments field wrapper completely on the display form (disp mode).

Field-type styling

Give all DateTime fields (kind-4) a light blue background on their input (#e8f4fd) and all currency fields (kind-10) a light green background (#edf7ee).

Scoped theme class

Set the custom form class to contoso-theme. Then write CSS under .contoso-theme that: removes the default left-label width minimum, sets all field labels to 160px fixed width, and uses a 14px font size throughout the form.

Custom JS

Scope: enable Custom JS in the AI panel

Confirmation modal before saving

Write custom JS that intercepts the save via dffs_ready. When dffs_fieldChanged fires on CurrencyNO and the value is greater than 5000, show a blocking modal with title “Budget Alert” and body “This amount exceeds the budget threshold. Are you sure?” with an OK button that closes the modal and a Cancel button that does nothing (user must manually undo).

Mirror a field value

Write custom JS using dffs_fieldChanged so that whenever the Title field changes, its value is automatically copied into the MultiLinePlain field.

Disable a choice option dynamically

Write custom JS that hides the option “Enter Choice #2” from the ChoiceRadio field when the form loads, using dffs_choice_option_hidden.

Reload a vLookup on field change

Write custom JS so that when LookupSingle changes, the vLookup with id vLookup_20260502_main reloads its items using vLookup_loadItems.

Formatted date in title

Write custom JS using dffs_ready that sets the Title field to “Draft – ” followed by today’s date in DD/MM/YYYY format, but only if the form is in new item mode (check dffs_FormContext).

Misc / Settings

Scope: enable Settings (Misc) in the AI panel

Change panel width

Change the form panel type to narrow (dffs_modern_panel_narrow) and enable the quick save control.

Enable autosave

Enable autosave with a 30-second interval and show the autosave control in the form.

Tab color scheme

Set the default tab background color to #0078d4 with white text, and the selected tab to #005a9e with white text.

Tips

  • For layout-only changes, uncheck Rules in the scope panel to keep the prompt smaller.
  • For follow-up edits in the same session, DFFS maintains conversation history — just type the follow-up without re-describing the full context.
  • For complex Custom JS, include Custom JS in the scope so the AI receives the full API reference.
  • The Send to AI button uses your API key directly (Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini) — no copy/paste needed. Use Download or Copy to paste into an external chat instead — that route sends nothing through our relay and needs no API key, so it also suits organizations whose policy is that configuration data must not pass through a third party.
