Never lose a half-filled form again.
When a user starts a new form and then cancels or closes it without saving, Modern DFFS quietly keeps a draft in their browser. Next time they open a new form for the same list, they’re offered the chance to pick up exactly where they left off.
Key capabilities
- Automatic — no configuration; on by default.
- Scoped to site + list + user — a draft only reappears for the same person on the same list.
- Resume or discard — a friendly banner offers both.
- Restores everything — text, numbers, dates, choices, lookups, managed metadata, and people pickers.
- Self-cleaning — cleared on successful save or after 7 days; stored only in the user’s browser (nothing sent to SharePoint).
Worked example
A user fills half of a long request form, gets interrupted, and closes the tab. The next morning they open a new request — a banner offers to restore yesterday’s entries. One click and they’re back where they left off.
