Updating an existing installation

①

Download the package

Unzip the download and take the .sppkg file out of it. That single file is the whole product — there is nothing else to install.

②

Upload it over the old one

Go to the app catalog you originally deployed to — tenant or site collection — and upload the new .sppkg, choosing Replace It when SharePoint asks. Every site already using the app picks the new version up automatically. Not sure which catalog you used? →

③

Wait out the browser cache

SharePoint can keep serving the previous build from the browser cache for a while. Clear the cache to pick the new one up straight away, or simply wait — it clears itself after roughly 15 minutes.

Your license and your forms are untouched

Updating replaces the application package only. Your license stays valid — there is no new code to enter and nothing to re-register — and every form configuration you have built stays exactly as it is, because configurations are stored in your own SharePoint lists, not in the package.

Licenses bought before v2.0 carry over as Professional automatically. See what that covers →
