End-User License Agreement

This agreement is between SPJSWorks AS (“we”, “us”) and the individual or organization licensing the software (“you”, “the Licensee”). By purchasing, installing or using Modern DFFS you accept these terms. Sale, payment and refund terms are covered separately in our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.

1. Parties

SPJSWorks AS, organization number 937 562 888, registered at Uranveien 8, 3152 Tønsberg, Norway. Contact: support@spjsworks.com.

SPJSWorks AS is a continuation of the sole proprietorship “Alexander Bautz / SPJSBlog” (organization number 914 163 110), which was converted to a limited company on 1 May 2026. SPJSWorks AS assumed all rights and obligations of that business. Licenses purchased from Alexander Bautz / SPJSBlog before that date — including those issued under the earlier license agreement naming it — are honored by SPJSWorks AS on their original terms, including support and maintenance.

2. Ownership

Modern DFFS is licensed, not sold. You acquire the right to use the software; SPJSWorks AS retains all ownership, copyright and intellectual property rights in it, including in any updates and in documentation.

Anything you build with Modern DFFS — your form configurations, custom JavaScript, custom CSS, and all data in your lists — remains entirely yours.

3. License grant

Subject to these terms and to payment, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Modern DFFS within the scope you have purchased, for the term of the license.

3.1 License scopes

Each scope is available in the Essentials, Professional and Enterprise editions, which determine the features available. Individual Enterprise features may also be licensed as add-ons on a Professional license. What each edition includes is set out on the Pricing page, which forms part of this agreement.

3.2 How a license is bound

A license is issued through a challenge-response process: you generate a challenge code from your installation, and we return an activation code. The license is bound to your site collection URL or tenant ID, encrypted within the license code.

A site collection license may be moved to a different site collection, provided it is deactivated in the original site collection first. Contact us and we will re-issue it.

3.3 Restrictions

You may not: sublicense, resell, rent, lease or redistribute Modern DFFS; remove or alter license validation or any proprietary notice; or use a license beyond the scope purchased. Reverse engineering is permitted only where mandatory law allows it and cannot be excluded by contract.

Redistributing Modern DFFS as part of your own product requires a separate written OEM agreement. Such an agreement requires that your product adds significant functionality of its own; Modern DFFS may not simply be passed through as-is.

You are responsible for preventing unauthorized use within your organization, and for telling us promptly if you become aware of it.

4. Term, maintenance and expiry

A license covers one year from the date of purchase. Continued use beyond that requires a maintenance agreement at 20% of the license price per year, which provides continued use, all updates released in the period, and support.

Renewal is not automatic and nothing is charged without you choosing to renew. If a license lapses:

• From 30 days before expiry — a warning banner, visible only to users with Manage lists permission. Forms work normally.
• For 45 days after expiry — everyone sees a banner naming the expiry date and a reference code. Forms still work normally.
• After that grace period — opening a DFFS form shows a license-expired message instead of the form. Administrators can still open the form configuration, so entering a renewed license code restores everything.

No configuration or list data is ever deleted because a license has lapsed. Renewing restores normal operation on the next form load.

A downgrade to a lower edition never blocks a form: features above the licensed tier become read-only.

5. Evaluation

Modern DFFS may be evaluated under a fully functional 30-day trial, and a trial upgrade may be used to evaluate a higher edition. Trials are for evaluation only and are provided without warranty of any kind. Production use requires a purchased license.

A developer or test license, where issued, may be used for development and testing only and is not valid for production use.

6. Updates

While your license or maintenance agreement is active, you are entitled to all minor and major versions released during that period. Updates are installed by you, by uploading the new package to your tenant or site collection app catalog.

We may add, change or withdraw features as the product develops. We will not remove a materially advertised feature from a version you are already licensed to use, but we make no commitment to any specific future functionality or release date.

7. Data and what the software communicates

Modern DFFS runs client-side inside your Microsoft 365 tenant. Form data, list items, attachments and your configuration stay in your own SharePoint lists. We have no access to them, and no form data is transmitted to us.

For transparency, the software makes exactly two categories of outbound request:

• License validation. When a form loads, the software retrieves your license record from our license service in order to confirm entitlement and expiry. This transmits your license code; it does not transmit form or list content.
• Features you configure yourself. Anything your own rules, Custom JS, integration actions or AI provider settings call — those go directly from your tenant to the endpoint you configured, not through us.

8. Support

Support is provided while a license or maintenance agreement is active, by email through our support page and via the SPJSBlog community forum. Enterprise licenses may include priority support on agreed terms.

Support covers Modern DFFS behaving as documented. Help with your own custom code or business logic is offered where practical but is not part of the license, and substantial custom work may be chargeable by prior agreement.

Where you report a defect and we release a fix, applying it is done by you, as described under Updates.

9. Stopping use

You may stop using Modern DFFS at any time. Deactivate it on each list and content type before removing the app from the app catalog — activation writes the DFFS component ID into content-type form properties, and removing the app while those are still set stops those forms rendering until the properties are cleared. No list data is affected by removal. Your items, columns, views, attachments and version history are untouched, and the standard SharePoint forms return.

10. Warranty and liability

Modern DFFS is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet a particular requirement, and we do not warrant compatibility with future changes Microsoft makes to SharePoint.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the license in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, business, goodwill or data.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

11. Termination

This agreement runs until the license expires or you stop using the software. We may terminate it if you materially breach it — in particular by redistributing the software or circumventing license validation — and the breach is not remedied within 30 days of written notice. On termination you must stop using Modern DFFS and remove it as described in section 9.

12. Transfer

You may transfer this license together with a transfer of the business or entity it was issued to, on written notice to us. It may not otherwise be assigned without our written consent, which we will not unreasonably withhold.

13. Changes to this agreement

We may publish revised versions of this agreement for future releases. The version in force when you purchased applies to that purchase for its term; renewing a maintenance agreement accepts the version current at the time of renewal.

14. Governing law

This agreement is governed by Norwegian law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the Norwegian courts, with Tønsberg as the agreed venue. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory law in your country of residence.

15. Entire agreement

This agreement, together with our Terms & Conditions, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, is the entire agreement between us regarding Modern DFFS. Where a separate signed agreement exists — an OEM or enterprise agreement — that agreement takes precedence to the extent of any conflict.
