Choose the level of power you need

Modern DFFS uses a perpetual-style license with a 20% annual renewal. Choose a site collection license (a single site) or a company license (unlimited site collections across your tenant, priced by organization size). The license is bound to your site collection URL or tenant ID, encrypted inside the license code, and validated automatically when a form loads. With Enterprise centralization, the whole tenant falls back to one central license — no per-site administration.

It carries over, at no cost. A Modern DFFS license issued before 2.0 is recognized as a Professional license in 2.0 — there’s nothing to buy and no new code to enter.

That gives you the complete Professional feature set, including everything added at that tier in 2.0: Related Items, Repeating Sections, Compute field value with formula expressions, the full field toolkit (signature & co-signing, barcode/QR, GPS, star rating, pattern validation), REST data sources, and the Custom JS CRUD API.

What it doesn’t cover is what 2.0 introduced above that tier — the four add-ons (AI Assistant, Admin tool, Print to PDF, Theme Builder) and the Enterprise features (Reusable Content and tenant-wide centralization). Those are licensed separately, individually as add-ons or together with an Enterprise license. A Trial upgrade lets you evaluate any of them before deciding.

Classic DFFS is a different product with its own licenses, so this doesn’t apply to it — see the next question.

Yes, and we’d rather you came across than stayed put. Classic DFFS is a separate product with its own licenses, so a Classic license doesn’t convert automatically — but if you’re holding one, you’re not starting from scratch either.

Email us with your existing Classic license details and roughly what you need — which edition, how many site collections — and you’ll get an upgrade quote back. Whether your maintenance is still current is taken into account.

Yes. You can move up a tier at any time for the difference (site collection: Essentials → Professional $600, Essentials → Enterprise $1,300, Professional → Enterprise $700). Upgrades move you to the new edition’s renewal rate from that point on.

Renewal is 20% of your edition’s price per year — per site collection that’s $100 Essentials, $220 Professional, $360 Enterprise. Add-ons renew alongside at their own 20% (shown with each add-on above), and a company license renews at 20% of your organization-size band.

From 30 days before your expiry date, a banner in the form configuration shows the date and a reference code. To renew, get in touch quoting that reference or your original order number, and you’ll receive a renewal invoice.

There’s nothing to reinstall and no new code to enter. Renewing extends the license you already have, so your existing license code keeps working and your forms carry on without interruption.

Yes — invoice is how every order is placed. Get in touch with your company name, address, VAT/organization number, and the edition and quantity you need, and you’ll receive an invoice by email, payable by bank transfer.

The Architecture & Security Overview, which is written to be handed straight to a reviewer. It covers the permission model — Modern DFFS requests no Microsoft Graph or tenant-level API permissions and runs as the signed-in user, within that user’s existing SharePoint permissions — along with where data lives, every external connection the product makes, subprocessors, and a shared-responsibility matrix.

Your forms and configuration are never deleted. Features above your active tier become read-only/locked until you license them, so nothing is lost.

A downgrade never blocks a form. Forms keep rendering and keep saving; premium field enhancements are stripped back, and features above your active tier become read-only until you license them.

An expiry is different, and there’s a generous grace period before anything stops. From 30 days before the expiry date, a warning banner appears — only for users with Manage lists permission, so your form users aren’t bothered by it. Once the date passes, everyone sees a banner naming the expiry date and a reference code, but forms keep working normally for a further 45 days.

After that 45-day grace period, opening a DFFS form shows a License expired message instead of the form, and it stays that way until the license is renewed. Administrators can still open the form configuration throughout, so you can enter a renewed license code and get straight back to normal.

On Enterprise, anything that reads the ModernDFFS_Central site — reusable content, the default tenant theme, global Custom CSS/JS, the managed AI relay and cross-site-collection Related Items — stops applying on the next form load. This is checked at runtime, so it happens whether or not the central site is still in place.

Nothing is deleted or rewritten. No configuration is lost while a license is lapsed, so renewing restores everything on the next form load — no re-import and no restore step. Your internal support contact keeps showing in the license banner throughout, so users always know who to contact.

If you need a single Enterprise-grade feature (AI Assistant, Admin tool, Print to PDF, or Theme Builder) on Professional, buy it as an add-on. Once you want two or more, compare with the $700 Professional → Enterprise upgrade — it’s usually better value. And if you need centralized governance across your tenant — central license, global code/branding, governed content, AI relay — choose Enterprise.

No — you supply your own AI access, and it is billed separately by whoever provides it. The add-on price (and the AI Assistant included with Enterprise) pays for the feature inside Modern DFFS: the prompt assembly, the configuration schema, and importing the result back into your form. It does not include a model, a subscription, or any allowance of tokens, and no AI usage is bundled into the license or the renewal.

There are three ways to supply it, and all three are yours: your own provider API key (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Mistral, Grok, or Groq — billed by that provider); your organization’s own Enterprise relay, running on your provider account or a self-hosted model; or no key at all, copying the assembled prompt into an AI tool you already subscribe to and pasting the answer back. The last route costs nothing extra only if you already have that tool.

What you spend depends entirely on your own usage, so we can’t quote it — scoping a prompt to just the parts of the configuration it touches is the main lever, and the assistant lets you do that on every request.

Modern DFFS is rebuilt for the modern SharePoint Framework (SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365). Classic DFFS remains available for older on-premises SharePoint, and a built-in importer brings your existing configurations across.
